MIG’s work has been recognised nationally by the direct marketing and ecommerce industry. The company was named 2013 Best Data Services provider at the ECMOD DC Live Supplier of the Year Awards in London on 18th September. It was one of nine special category winners out of 300 nominations.

Unlike other awards, ECMOD DC winners are nominated voluntarily by clients who believe that they have delivered excellent services.

MIG CEO, Rob Bielby, commented, “What is so thrilling is that the awards are based on an open industry vote. Our goal is to use data intelligently to put our clients in touch with as many future customers as possible. It is rewarding to know that our message is being understood clearly.”

Data keeps the wheels rolling

Customer data’s growing role in successful marketing is becoming increasingly important in a tough competitive environment with many new channels of instant marketing.

In the words of one keynote speaker, “Data is the oil that keeps the direct marketing industry running.”

The ECMOD DC awards identify leaders in nine categories that include Best Creative & Design Services, Best Technology Solution and Best Web & Digital Development Services.

Rob Bielby added, “Businesses often do not realise just how much absolutely invaluable customer data they actually possess in many different forms and places, much of it neglected or hidden.

Our role is to develop innovative ways of identifying, retrieving, upgrading and amalgamating reliable information from a wide range of physical and digital sources so that it can be put to work profitably increasing awareness, reputation and sales.

In particular, we are very proud of our Coalition Marketing programme designed to generate new leads and incremental revenues from legacy data and we hope that many more companies will see the opportunity for self-funded customer recruitment.”

HMV appoint MIG

HMV Canada has appointed MIG to provide the technology and service solution that will power the retailer’s relaunched loyalty scheme.

The Pure programme was originally launched in 2010. Designed to offer HMV Canada’s customers ‘cool stuff money can’t buy’, members redeem points earned on purchases for exclusive memorabilia and experiences. A new in store sign up process has already seen new member registrations increase by 25%.

MIG, has extensive experience in operating data, loyalty and digital communications programmes for companies such as Office Depot and Shell and is developing a data warehouse which will contain all contact, points, communications and transactional information related to Pure member activity. The Pure data warehouse has been designed to integrate seamlessly with HMV Canada’s back end infrastructure and in store epos system to enable timely two way secure data transfer. The Pure data warehouse will also integrate with MIG’s digital communications platforms and MIG will provide design, delivery, management and reporting of triggered, event driven, planned and ad hoc digital campaigns.

MIG’s solution will provide HMV Canada’s Pure marketing team with live dashboard-based reporting, together with deeper analytics to inform the development of HMV Canada’s future direct marketing strategy.

The system will also play a key role in joining up disparate data about each customer gathered from multiple touch points, both online and in store, to provide a ‘single customer view’ and, consequently, a deeper understanding of customer needs.
